Over the next couple of weeks in Retford you might start to see some improvements taking place on and around the high street, with some of the brickwork and paving in the pedestrianised areas being repaired.

Work to smarten up our high streets has already begun on Union Street to repair some walls and benches, with our partners AWJ moving onto Carolgate, Exchange Street and Cannon Square as this project progresses.

We don’t expect these improvements to create too much disruption, and we apologise if it does, but we ask visitors and businesses to be patient with us while this takes place.

These renovations are part of a wider project, led by the Retford Town Centre Partnership Board and Bassetlaw District Council, to improve the high streets and surrounding areas of the town centre. We’ll be able to tell you more about this very soon!
